Personal Assessment
To what extent have you learned new disciplines for learning and managing your time?
While taking yet another online class this summer alongside my internship, completing the internship requirements, and working X Games Minneapolis again, there has been a ton to learn and improve upon with time management. I have learned that prioritizing things are crucial when it comes to meeting deadlines and working to finish things before something comes up.

Have your career goals been reinforced or have you decided to alter your original goals?
Last year I made a point to note that I feel as though staying in one sport for the rest of my career will drive me insane. I have always wanted to travel, I feel the same way with this internship in food and bev HOWEVER I feel like I might take a look at different companies such as Marriott where I have the ability to transfer around if needed.

What new skills have you acquired and what present skills have been reinforced? Consider the full range of skills: leadership; technical; communication; artistic; social; political and others.
I have improved upon my management and leadership skills. I have learned the importance of communication and improved upon the time management aspect of my skills. Another skill I had the ability to sharpen up on is marketing and promoting events at the restaurant. I picked up the digital marketing major not too long ago and it is a bit more tedious than I thought it would be! I'm enjoying it though.

What specific techniques have you learned which will improve your interpersonal skills? How will these improve your ability to be a successful manager?
I have improved upon the guest connection with others. Guests include those who com to eat and those I work with, this expands my ability for networking with anyone. This will also improve my ability to be a successful manager because I have had guests tell me what they enjoyed about their experience and what they did not enjoy about their experience. This gives me a chance to work with my employees and talk about how to improve their skills.

What suggestions would you make for improving this internship learning experience?
Stick to the modules we were given at the start of our internship.

Photograph or video of themselves at their place of work: Students are required to provide a photograph of themselves in their working attire on the job (including logo or name of site in the photo if possible)
I have included a photo album displaying numerous events worked and opportunities I have been lucky enough to experience!
Artifacts
Two artifacts from coursework in the College of Business Core that support learning experience in field
1. The first artifact I had from COB core is from PREL 390 and the strengths paper I wrote for that class. KNowing the strengths you have is very important even when you are stepping into a higher position. It doesn't only help you with knowing how you work yourself but how you will work with others.

2. The second artifact I have is also from PREL 390, we were asked to write a personal creed. I still refer to this in order to walk myself through hard situations and when I am struggling.

Two artifacts from Hospitality Program coursework that support learning experience in field
1. The first artifact I have from the program is a paper written in Hospitality Law. With working in the industry we are in, Human Trafficking is a real and scary thing. THis is also a touristy spot so it is a thing to look for on a daily basis. I wrote a paper about a case on human trafficking for this class and that is what I have attached. We learned about what signs to look for, stats, and everything around it.

2. The second one is from one of my first years at Ferris from Kiio's cost controls class. We worked on testing your skills for a sim where we run our own restaurant. I have an example of the TYS problems with purchasing, not the labor but that is where I was able to put things in perspective. Looking at how we schedule staff especially during peak periods and busy season. I worked on this sim not realizing I would be a manager at a restaurant. It did help though and the current management team walks me through the numbers and labor percentages which is awesome to see as far as numbers go!

Two artifacts from workplace that support learning experience
1. I did the POS system last year but this summer I learned a whole new system so I would like to use that as an example from the workplace! This new system is easier to use to a point, I am not able to cash people out on this system however there is another card machine attached to the computer that provides a separate report.

2. The second artifact from CPG is a servers report for their cash out at the end of the night. This is what we use to determine their tip outs and what we owe them or they owe us at the end of their shift. While learning how to do these it was complicated to catch on at first because if the server worked a double then how was I supposed to learn the tip out correctly? And not charge them more than I should? Once I did it for about a week it came so easy I could do it in my sleep.

One artifact from other coursework
With other coursework i'll bring it back to COB, I have here attached a project I did for one of my AIMC classes. Our goal was to bring awareness to MIWorks! West Central and had to create a powerpoint on writing blogs and posts. With my current position at City Park Grill as the "social media manager" I write posts for the company and create check presenters and posters for the building and around town. The following artifact from personal experience will attach to the CPG Insta and Facebook.
